BharatNext Accelerator (AMSIM) — Policy, Terms & Disclaimer

Last updated: 25 August 2025 (IST)

About the initiative

AMSIM / BharatNext is a pro bono, community-driven program to support startups by facilitating interactions with mentors and potential investors. Participation is voluntary and non‑commercial. Any interest expressed by mentors/investors is discretionary and not a commitment to invest.

1. Program Overview

BharatNext provides curated mentorship, domain-specific workshops, networking opportunities, investment readiness support, and Demo Day participation to help early-stage startups refine narrative, metrics, and go-to-market. Specific session dates/times may be announced subsequently and are subject to change.

2. Scope of Support

  • Mentorship and strategic guidance
  • Sector-focused workshops and peer learning
  • Investment readiness and Demo Day coaching
  • Limited access to shared workspace/virtual infrastructure
  • Visibility via and partners
Non‑commercial: No equity, fees, or commercial consideration are required from participating startups for core program activities.

3. Non‑Binding, No Advice & No Investment Obligation

Program content and interactions are intended solely for education and feedback and should not be construed as investment, legal, tax, or financial advice. Participants should seek independent professional advice before acting on any feedback.

No investment obligation: Participation in the program, including all interactions with mentors, investors, or panelists, does not create any offer, recommendation, commitment, or obligation to invest, nor any solicitation regarding securities. Any expression of interest, if made, is purely discretionary and may be withdrawn at any time.

4. Independent Engagements with Mentors (Outside BharatNext)

Mentorship through the Accelerator is the mentors’ pro bono contribution to the mission. If a Startup seeks any professional or commercial service from a mentor (e.g., consulting, development, design, legal, accounting, fundraising advisory), such engagement is directly between the Startup and the mentor at their sole discretion and on mutually agreed terms. AMSIM/BharatNext is not a party to, does not supervise, and assumes no liability for such outside engagements, outcomes, or fees.

5. Confidentiality & Materials

  • Submissions (e.g., decks, links, metrics) may be shared with panelists/mentors for review and feedback.
  • Where reasonably required, mentors/investors may be asked to sign a non‑disclosure agreement (NDA) with the Accelerator or directly with the Startup.
  • Do not upload highly confidential or trade‑secret materials; share only what you can disclose under these Terms.

6. Intellectual Property

  • All IP created solely by the Startup remains the Startup’s property.
  • Co‑developed IP (with mentors/partners) will be governed by a separate written agreement among the relevant parties.
  • AMSIM/BharatNext does not claim rights over Startup IP. In limited cases of substantial technical/financial input, licensing or revenue‑sharing may be discussed separately by mutual agreement.

7. Data Privacy & Security

  • Startup data will be stored securely and shared only with internal program teams and select partners on a need‑to‑know basis.
  • Aggregate, anonymized insights may be used for reporting and ecosystem learning.
  • Contact details may be used for scheduling, updates, and feedback communications.

8. Participation, Conduct & Selection

  • Attendance and active engagement in sessions (workshops, mentor meets, reviews) are expected.
  • Professional conduct is mandatory—no harassment or abusive behavior; adhere to time limits and confidentiality.
  • Participation is subject to selection and schedule availability; slots may be limited.

9. Non‑Compliance & Termination

  • Non‑participation or misconduct may lead to warnings, probation, or removal from the program.
  • The Accelerator may terminate participation for false information, violation of ethics, harassment, or breach of law.
  • Either party may terminate participation with reasonable written notice.

10. Liability & Indemnity

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AMSIM/BharatNext and its organizers, mentors, advisors, panelists, and partners are not responsible or liable for any loss, damage, claim, cost, or consequence—financial, legal, reputational, or otherwise—arising from or in connection with participation, use of feedback, independent engagements between Startups and mentors, or follow‑on interactions. The Startup agrees to indemnify AMSIM/BharatNext, its team, and partners against claims resulting from breach of law, third‑party IP infringement, or fraud/negligence by the Startup.

11. Dispute Resolution

Internal program matters may be addressed through staged resolution (mediation by Program Director, escalation to Executive Committee, and, if needed, Advisory Board review). Disputes between a Startup and external parties (e.g., mentors or investors) fall outside the Accelerator’s scope.

12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of India. Courts having jurisdiction at Mehsana, Gujarat, shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, subject to applicable law.

13. Force Majeure & Entire Agreement

Neither party is liable for non‑performance caused by events beyond reasonable control (including natural disasters, pandemics, or government action). These Terms may be updated periodically and, together with any signed Participation/Program Agreement, constitute the entire understanding; the signed agreement will prevail in case of inconsistency.
